Position: Warehouse Supervisor

Our head office is located in Coquitlam, B.C with six branch offices strategically located in the major cities across Canada.
We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor at our Coquitlam branch. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and directing a number of warehouse departments according to our overall business standards. This position reports to the Regional Operations Manager. Responsibilities Primary
Creating and maintaining a safe and productive work environment
Working together with Team Leaders and other Supervisor to ensure all daily responsibilities are attended to in a customer service oriented and productive fashion
Lead the team in developing a continuous improvement mindset and process, while recognizing opportunities for changes and implementing them successfully
Direct the daily duties of the warehouse personnel which may involve cross-training, assigning staff to different areas of the warehouse and continuous follow up
Promoting and ensuring there are appropriate health and safety measures in place and ensuring they are followed by everyone in the warehouse
Stay up to date on policies, standards, guidelines and company communications to ensure you are able to coach staff, answer questions and change procedures according to all guidelines and policies
Provide regular feedback and continuous communication to warehouse staff
Prepare and deliver annual performance appraisals
Participating in the joint health and safety committee
Attend to customer requests, enquiries and concerns in a professional and prompt manner
Responsible for the inventory accuracy, ensure that stock count is checked and any discrepancies are investigated and corrected
Communicate with other branches on stock balance discrepancies and transfers
Assist Operations Manager with the coordination and completion of the annual inventory count;
Responsible for opening and closing procedures for the warehouse to our company standards of security
Responsible for meticulous documentation on warehouse attendance
Overseeing the safety for the warehouse
Ensuring that all operating equipment is in good working order and reporting any deficiencies to the Operations Manager immediately.
Load, unload and move products by hand or with basic material handling equipment
Operate a variety of equipment to unload and load and move products (sit down counterbalance, reach truck and order picker
Weigh products, wrap goods and pack and unpack products
Process incoming requisitions which includes picking, checking and packing orders
Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices and other documents
Shipment of orders
Maintain a safe and clean warehouse
Other duties and projects assigned as required.
Education and Competencies
3-5 years previous leadership experience, preferably within a warehousing environment, with a focus on servicing internal branch facilities and external customers
Past participation and leadership in safety programs coupled with Safety certifications personally and company related
Experience with Puro, Loomis, UPS, FedEx, Courier, LTL, and container shipping considered an asset
Experience with WMS systems, RF scan, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Project, CI, and 5S experience is an asset
Experience with accident/ incident investigation and dealing with WCB
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Professional and excellent customer service skills
A self-starter who takes initiative and sets good example for the warehouse staff
A team player who can lead and take direction
Ability to give and follow instructions and policy
Strong problem solving skills
Physically able to lift heavy shipments and products between 25 to 50 lbs
Ability to operate industrial lift trucks, pallet jack, order picker and forklifts.
